Lynn R. Purcell, O.D.
Since founding the Bear River Eye Center in 1982 Dr. Lynn Purcell has developed it into a state-of-the-art example for rural eye care and a leader in eye care throughout Utah. Though a native of Idaho Falls, he attended schools in Idaho, Nevada, Utah and Oregon. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in zoology and genetics before attending Pacific University where he received his Doctor of Optometry degree. Dr. Purcell subsequently earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix.
Dr. Purcell has served in numerous capacities in professional associations, community activities and his church. He currently serves as a member of M.E.D.I.C.O., an international humanitarian service organization working in Central America. Dr. Purcell has published articles in peer review journals and has special interests in glaucoma and diabetic eye disease. He has been named both the Utah Young Optometrist of the Year and the Utah Optometrist of the Year. He enjoys running, flying, reading and spending time with his children and grandchildren. |
